White Belt Requirements for promotion to Eighth Gold Rank

White Belt: Purity

1) Students must know the tenets of Tae Kwon Do, Student Oath, School Moto in both Korean and English and their meanings.

2) WTF Pattern Ge-Bon Dong Jark (Kipa Dun Juk) (18 steps). Number of steps and meaning.

3) ITF Tul/Pattern - Chun GI (19 steps) named after Lake Chon-Ji the water is so clear and calm you can see the Heaven meeting the Earth. Number of steps and its meaning. Chun Ji also means: Basic movement pattern

5) Meaning of white belt = purity.

8) Excellent elementary, junior high, and high school grades. *Must bring in report cards.

9) No trouble or infraction at home or in school. No below average grades and NO in school suspensions.

10) Students must know the following and be able to explain basic kicking, punching, blocking, stiking techniques:
a. Front kick, Side kick, Round kick, Ax kick, Kressent kick, Hook kick, Swing/jum kicks. Point of contact with foot for all kicks.
b. Proper punching, low/middle/out/rising blocks. Basic fist and knife hand striking.

11) Self defense techniques 1 - 3

12) Basic Stances: Ready, Short, Long, Fighting, Back and Horse stance.

13) Students must attend at least two classes or more per week (two different days) and have a minimum of eight classes per month for at least three months prior to testing.

14) Students must know the full name of their parents/guardians and address them as Mr. / Mrs. / Ms.

15) Students are also responsible for ALL other Korean Martial Arts information and techniques taught at our dojang.

16) 100% knowledge of what the United States American flag means.

17) Master Instructor's, Chief Instructor's and Head Instructor's name and rank.

White Belt - Hin Di
Black Belt ranked student - Yu Dahn Jah
First Dahn Black Belt - Jo Kyo Nim
Second Dahn - Kyo Sa Nim
Third Dahn - Pu Sabum Nim
Fourth Dahn - Sixth Dahn Black Belt Rank - Sabum Nim
Grandmaster or Sr. Master level Black Belt - Kwan Jang Nim
Grandmaster/Inheritor - Saja Nim
