DE WITT KOREAN MARTIAL ARTS SECOND GUP BROWN BELT Basic
Testing
Requirements
1)
Students must know all previous belt training requirements along with any
and all training techniques, physical and cognitive, discussed and taught
within the dojang. *Research Paper. 2) WTF Pattern - Tae
Guek IL, Yi, Sahm, Sarh, Oh & Yuk Jang. Meaning and number of steps. Knowledge
and demonstration of ALL WTF Hyungs & ITF Tuls up to this Brown Belt
rank. 3) ITF Pattern - Hwa Wrang. Meaning and number of steps.
Chun Gi through Hwa Wrang Tuls.
4) All WTF / ITF White Belt rank through Second Brown Belt rank must
be completed successfully. Students
must be able to successfully complete their highest ranking forms to their
lowest ranking forms and than again in reverse order. Students must also
complete the WTF and ITF Forms, doing each in all four directions of
the dojang. 5) Brown Belt One Steps. All other one-steps up to this
Brown Belt rank. Defense against Front Kicks & Side Kicks. 6)
Self defense techniques (HoShin Sul) 7)

Chuk Yi & Chuk Sahm Hyungs. 8)

Must attend classes or advanced classes for six/nine months prior to possible
Red Belt testing. Master De Witt's Discrestion. 11)
Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge, both physically and cognitively/ verbal,
of the Korean Martial Arts of Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do (Traditional Korean
Martial Arts of un-armed self defense), HoShin Sul Hap Ki Do-wrist and clothing
grab self defense techniques during a pre-test and obtain verbal and written
permission to test for the First Gup/Red Belt rank, directly from Master Karmon
Keppers, Mr. Randy Mertes and Dr. Renee Taylor. *Any inquiries of this must
be directed to these three Instructors and not to Sr. Master De Witt. 12)
Attendance and completion of Friday night fitness/pre-test prior to Saturday's
promotional test. This martial arts training workout consists of approximately
eight to nine hours of Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do, HoShin Sul/KSB(TM)
Hap Ki Do, Bong twirling, Stretching and Hyung training, Juhl Bong Hyungs
demonstrations, multiple physical working out, both in the dojang and outdoors,
along with completion of at least five times the *Basic Physical Requirement
Criteria for this rank. 13)HYUNGS / TULS: Tae Geuk IL, Yi,
Sahm, Sarh, Oh and Yuhk Jang Hyungs. Chun Gi, Tohn Guhn, Toh Sohn, Won Hyo,
Yuhl Guhp, Juhn Guhn and Tye Gae. 14) Basic Physical Requirement

** These are the very basic physical activities for a student at this rank
to accomplish in order to be considered for testing to the Red Belt rank.
A student at this rank must complete at least five times this criteria on
the Friday night workout session just prior to the Saturday Promotional test.

Time in Grade/Rank is approximately nine months. Students have a very large
Chung Do Kwan, Hap Ki Do and Weapons curriculum to absolutely know and demonstrate.
A physical and oral pre-test is also completed prior to any approval for
First Red promotional testing. 16)
Write a five page paper on your goals with the martial arts for the next year.
This is to include your personal goals and also write/ describe the United
States of America Flag: (i.e. when it was made, who made it, what it
means). 17) Any other martial arts information which is given during
classes.
